SpaceX Falcon 9 certified for medium risk NASA launches

SpaceX has been certified by NASA for Falcon 9 rockets to carryout Category 2 space missions. These are 'medium risk' launches such as satellites and less expensive space probes.

US Air Force should certify SpaceX Falcon 9 by June 2015 and nearly halve the cost of launches

Once certified, SpaceX can compete for national security space launches against United Launch Alliance that has a monopoly.
